Visit To Sony Palace Hotel

To make the children understand the working of a hotel and the different kinds of jobs involved for a hotel to run smoothly, the school had conducted a field trip of Sr.K.G. children to Hotel Sony Palace at Market Yard on 28th of July 2011. This was part of their curriculum concept—“Professions”. The hotel staff and ancillary cooperated very well. The children were taken around to all the departments of the hotel- the reception, accounts, conference hall, the lodging rooms , house-keeping ,restaurant and the kitchen. They observed the various heads conducting their duties, the receptionist interacting with customers and receiving phone calls, the manager managing the various activities, the chefs cooking delicacies , the waiters, porters and bell boy perform their duties, the house keeping busy with cleaning and maintaining the rooms as well as the laundry. By the end of the trip the children were thorough with their knowledge of the harmonious working of all sections of the hotel.
