Beautiful Birds

Movie watch-A ‘Bugs life”

Children were shown the movie to reinforce the ongoing theme ‘creepy crawlies’. Children were able to identify different insects & enjoyed the movie.

Kite Flying Day

Uttarayan is a very popular festival which is celebrated with much gusto by the people of Vadodara. Children enjoyed flying kites and followed it up by making their own decorative kites and drawings.

Alphabet treasure hunt

Children had an ‘Alphabet Treasure Hunt' game to reinforce the alphabets and to provide them an opportunity to play the game. Teacher arranged the class and hid the letters in such a way that only a small portion of it was seen. Children were shown the object and they had to identify and name the object. Then they had to say the alphabet it starts with and find out the hidden alphabet. Children successfully found the hidden alphabets and enjoyed the game. It was a great fun for them.  The game was planned as their part of learning, Children were able to play the game and were able to recognize the ‘Alphabets’

Fishy fun

The activity was designed as part of their theme. Children played fishy fun game which they enjoyed a lot. and they had done coloring on the fish.

Save Tiger

Children loved watching this tale of two cubs which was entertaining as well as helped raise awareness about the plight of tigers in the world.

Pyjama party

Pyjama party was conducted to make the children aware of ‘Night Time’. The classroom was decorated with stars and moon and even the night scene was created with mattress, bedsheet, blanket and pillow. Good habits of brushing the teeth before going to bed were inculcated in the kids. The children were enjoyed seeing the picture in bed time. Teacher comb the hair of each child like mother what she do at home. Each child snuggled their favourite toy which we had got from home. The light was switch off and classroom was darkened as they gazed at the twinkling stars and shine moon. They drifted off into peace sleep. The concept of night was made interesting for the children by conducting pajama party. Children came dressed in their favorite pajamas and with their soft toy &a story book to read at night. They enjoyed the party very much.

Busy Busy Spider Day

Children had "Busy Busy Spider Day" to enhance their language, visual and listening skills. One child came dressed up as a spider while the other children came dressed as the characters in the story. The day and date for the special day was mentioned in the 'Information to the Parents'. Parents were also told about the character in which their child has to come dressed as. Teacher explained the story of the busy spider. Children enacted the story and enjoyed it very much.

ACTIVITIES held from 21st December To 22nd December 2011

Grade 2 Culminating Activity

The students of Grade 2 enacted the process of Photosynthesis where a leaf uses water ,sunlight, carbon-di-oxide to prepare its food. They also had a fashion show on seasons where in the students came dressed in costumes related to different seasons. The show ended with a round of quiz session for the parents.

Grade 3 Culminating Activity

The students of Grade 3 took the parents on an adventure tour with James and all the gigantic creatures and showed them how team work helped them save their lives. They also took us back to the early pages of history where man was a hunter and gatherer. He gradually invented the Fire, the Wheel and then lived a settled life . We also got to peep into the proceedings of a Gram Panchayat where the Sarpanch tackles the problems related to the village.

Grade 4 Culminating Activity

The students of Grade 4 had their culminating activity where the students played the role of Mrs. Trunchbull and enacted the episode where she makes Bogtotter eat the whole cake . The students enacted the role play on save tiger as part of their SS topic conservation of animals.

Color Fun day- Orange

Nursery 14-12-11 To reinforce the concept of the colour orange, children exhibited their creativity while they assembled collage work, sorted out orange beads from other colours. They played a game ‘ Noisy orange’ which was enjoyed by each and every one.

Children were dressed as different sea creatures and they enacted like them ,after that they had made pinacolada and enjoyed the day as they played in the splash pool.

Jungle party

The classroom was converted into a jungle with animal cutouts, rubber animals and decorations depicting the jungle scene. The songs and the music based on the theme filled the air and very soon each kid joined the team to dance and sing.

Field trip- Visit to the Zoo

The Zoo is always a dream world in the eyes of a kid. Children were very excited to visit the zoo. They were delighted to see the lions and tigers. The different colours of the birds attracted some of them. The chattering monkey was a great delight. While the crocodile held many of them spell bound.

Field trip-Visit to the Museum

Visiting the Baroda Museum located at Sayajiganj Vadodara,proved to be an enriching experience as the children saw a wide variety of stuffed birds and animals, interesting paintings, artifacts, costumes and weapons of ancient times.

Childrens’ Day Celebration

Childrens Day was celebrated in a very grand way. It was a day filled with entertainment for the kids. An interesting puppet show was arranged for the kids. It was followed by the kids helping their teachers to make yummy chocolate treats. which were gobbled up in no time!!!!

Karadi Tale

The children were introduced to the Karadi Tales with the help of Puppets. The main objective of this interesting activity was to provide children with an opportunity to enhance their listening and speaking skills while the Puppets danced and moved according to the characters each symbolised. The kids loved the Foolish lion and the cute Rabbit.

Farmyard Cabaret

Dancing with tambourines to the accompaniment of foot tapping music set the tone for this fun filled and lively special day -“Farmyard Cabaret” The kids enjoyed the music and the unique setup.

Traditional Day

The last day of the First Term before Diwali break was marked by children participating in Art & Craft activities, dancing to traditional garba beats and enjoying delicious food. This was a fun filled way to start the Diwali Holidays.

Zelda the Zebra

The concept of ‘Zebra’ was made interesting for the children by putting up a puppet show ‘Zelda the Zebra’. The children enjoyed this fun session, as the story of Zelda and his character appealed to all.

Monkey Day

The Monkey Day was celebrated as the children danced like monkeys to the tunes of Nursery rhymes, as part of the on going theme of Wild animals. Then they made puppets out of paper bags.

Dussehra

The children learned about the great war between good and evil symbolized by Lord Ram defeating Ravana and the unique rescue of Sita. The kids of respective classes presented their ideas through varied art activities like poster making and presenting their ideas in different colours.

Jungle book day

Excitement and enthusiasm was evident on the children's faces as they watched their favorite “ Mowgli” in the movie “ Jungle Book”. They were able to identify all the wild animal characters in movie.

Pet Care Day

This was an exciting day for Jr. Kg kids as pets like the Doberman visited the classroom. They petted and fed the Doberman who shook hands and greeted each one with a ‘Namaste’. They were happy to look at and feed a pair of Goldfish too.

Visit to the Zoo

In keeping with the concept of Wild animals children were taken for a trip to the zoo. The trip proved to be educative and entertaining as well. The young kids loved to see the Lion and the Tiger but their favourite one was Hoppu the Monkey as it chattered and shrieked along with the kids…

World Fiesta

It was a day packed with joyful singing of poems, exuberant dance performances and confident execution of quiz contest to the loud cheering and applaud of parents. The entire school had food at the stalls which served watering delicacies like Biryani, burgers, ice cream , chocolates…… put up by the parents.

Visit to Supermarket

With money in their pockets, the Playgroup kids were ready to shop fruits and vegetables at the super market. This experience instilled confidence in them while reinforcing the concept of Buying and selling things

Children were shown the pictures of the Seven latest Wonders of the World on this special day. Important information and details were also provided so that children could understand what made each structure special and amazing.

This trip made the children aware of how cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the cow sheds. They happily sang “ Old Macdonald’s “ on the way to the farm.

The Dalmatian Day

A Dalmatian dog is a very affectionate and a loveable pet. The black polka dotted fur makes it look so adorable. A child came to school dressed as a Dalmatian dog. The teacher made the kids aware of the unique appearance of the dog. This was followed by an art activity - Finger Printing based on the appearance of a Dalmatian.

Veggie Day

The Veggie Day was celebrated with Fun activities which were lined up for the kids to help reinforce recognition and naming of the different vegetables. They made cards with colourful Veggies as the theme. The tiny tots tried their hands in arranging different Veggies in the form of delicious salads.

Dingle Dangle Scarecrow Day

Nursery The Dingle Dangle Scarecrow Day gave the children an opportunity to learn about ‘The Scarecrow’ which is a cute yet scary object. The students were explained the purpose and importance of a Scare crow in the fields and how it is a good friend of the humble farmer. The students made stick puppets and sang the nursery rhyme ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’

Potato Party

The Potato Party was a unique way of introducing the most commonly used vegetable – The Potato. The different features of the Potato and its uniqueness was reinforced through various activities involving potatoes, the activities included peeling & mashing a boiled potato, sorting potatoes into big and small sizes, potato printing & making a funny yet appealing potato face.

Visit to a story land

Children were excited to carry their favorite story books to class. Each child spoke about their most loved character in their story books. ‘I love Ben ten because he is good’ Some loved Cinderella because she is ‘kind’ Later they watched the movie ‘Noddy The Artist’ The visit to the story land helped the tiny tots to enhance their conversational skills in a play way and interesting manner.

It was an exciting day as a couple of children came dressed as the story characters – the lion and the mouse They enacted the story which held the class spell bound. This helped them to gain confidence and gave each one an opportunity to dramatize the story.

Parsi New Year

New Year was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and fun on the 19-8-2011. Today children learnt how the Parsis celebrate their New year ‘PATETE’. The teacher explained to the children about the holy fire and about the rites and rituals performed by the Parsis on the New Year Day. They were told about the special clothe they worn and delicacies prepared. A fire was lit up depicting the holy fire, sandalwood was burned and rangoli designs were made. A few children were dressed up in traditional Parsi attire which made the celebration very interesting and real.

Proud to be Indian

The students of Sr.Kg section extended the Independence Day celebrations in a very unique and interesting manner. They prepared lovely collage of the pictures of some of our freedom fighters like – Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and many more. Many of the children were well prepared and spoke at length about their favorite national leaders . A befitting tribute from our young kids to our great patriots!!!!!

India Day

The Pre Primary Section celebrated Independence day on 13th August 2011. Each class conducted activities such as making the Indian Fag Badge, Hand printing on the Map of India and drawing and coloring National Animal – the Tiger, the National Bird – the Peacock and the National Flower- Lotus. The children carried out the activities with enthusiasm. After the teachers talked to their respective classes about the importance of ‘Independence Day', all the children gathered outside for the Flag Hoisting Ceremony and singing of the National Anthem, the National Song and other patriotic songs.

Tactile Sensory Zone

On this special day, the class room was arranged to have different corners with many objects of various textures. The children had to touch the surface and identify their surfaces. Children were very excited and they enjoyed the activity.

Blind school visit

The day began with a brief discussion on the place of visit- Blind School. There the children saw a visually impaired person playing tabla and keyboard . They also witnessed the use of braille & the special instruments which made their task easier.

Visit to the Garden

The tiny tots of the Nursery grade were very excited to visit the garden along with their friends. They had a gala time in the garden, it provided each one of them an opportunity to observe & enjoy the nature.

Visit to the Eye Hospital

As a part of their curriculum, a visit to the ‘Eye Hospital’ was arranged for the children of Jr. KG . The ophthalmologist present a very interesting and informative Power Point presentation on the different parts of an eye . Children were very excited to see the same. They put forth a number of questions related to eye care.They learnt many new things about the eye and how to take care of the same . The trip was meaningful and highly educative.

My Family Flag Day

The tiny tots of the nursery were all smiles as they made their family tree flag. The activity provided an opportunity to the tiny hands to draw and do art work while they identified different members of the family.

Amazing Journey

The special day began with a discussion of some amazing facts about internal organs. A corner was set up for each sense organ where children could interact with one another, manipulate objects and get hands on experience of the functions of the sense organs. The children handled their respective corners confidently.

Sing along Mummy

Children were very excited because they were aware that their mothers are going to come to school today and they will join them in singing and dancing.
The session was appreciated by each one present. It provided each child an opportunity to sing & dance along with their mothers.
